A Place to Rebuild, Restore, and Rise

For years, you’ve known us as House of Refuge Sunnyslope. Today, we’re stepping into a new name: Phoenix 6:10.

It’s not a new mission. It’s the truest name for the one we’ve always had.

Where the name comes from

Phoenix is our home city, and it’s also an old picture of renewal: something rising out of what looked like the end. That’s what we watch happen on our campus every day.

6:10 comes from Ephesians 6:10, the “Armor of God” passage. Every resident who graduates from our program hears this verse read over them as they walk out the door. It’s one of the most meaningful moments we share, and now it’s part of who we are, publicly, every day.

“Every resident who graduates from our program hears this verse read over them,” says Kelly Fine, our CEO. “Now it’s part of who we are, publicly, every day.”

How we got here

This wasn’t a quick decision. Over several months, an internal task force led a formal nomenclature study and a series of panel discussions with our staff and leadership. We prayed, listened, and landed on a name that honors where we’ve been and where we’re going.

What’s changing (and what isn’t)

You’ll see a new logo, a new tagline, and a new look across our website, signage, and communications starting today.

What stays exactly the same: our programs, our campus, our leadership, and the people who make this place home. We’ll keep providing safe, faith-based transitional housing and support for men, women, and families in Sunnyslope and beyond.

Your giving still goes to the same place

If you’ve supported us before, nothing changes. Every gift still goes directly to the work here. Give to Phoenix 6:10 →

Thank you for walking with us. Same mission. Same people. Finally named for what we’ve always been.
